Other news

Want to pay via credit card? Soon you can!

You've been asking, and we've been listening! Soon our customers will be able to pay their Powerex account using their credit card. Wer'e doing all we can to make it easy too - by including a link on our invoices and emails for you to click, or you can simply call us and we'll take care of it over the phone. Imagine the extra loyalty points this could bring you, not to mention the added convienance!

The downside (sorry) - Visa & Mastercard charge a 2.7% fee. We've crunched the numbers, and we just don't have the margins to cover this fee so we need to pass it on - we need to make a profit too! We did consider increasing our rates, but this creates a disadvantage to customers who don't pay via credit card, so that isn't gonna happen

We're in the process of getting this facility setup now, so you will soon see the credit card option appear on the bottom of our invoices. Once you see it, feel free to use it... or not, the choice is yours, as we'll continue to accept all other current forms of payment too

Health & Safety at work act 2015

You may have heard all the commotion around the new Health & Safety at Work act that comes into force on April 4, 2016 - some people are saying that it will increase the cost of jobs beyond reasonable levels, others are saying that cowboys will continue to fly under the radar and undercut companies that take Health & Safety seriously - were not reading into any of the hype

At Powerex, we've had systems and procedures in place for the last 2+ years that are fully complaint with the new Health & Safety at Work Act 2015, so we dunno what all the hype is about. Sure , we are having to alter a small portion of our documentation to better meet the wording of the new legislation, but we don't see how this should change what we charge our customers or how we go about our work

We are happy to provide our customers with a copy of our H & S Policy, should you need it for your own records (and piece of mind). Our staff are all trained to identify any potential risk that they might encounter or bring to a job and they will communicate these to you were required

Any business owners or site operators that engage workers  - or any person that has control over a site or job (defined in the act as a PCBU) should be aware of their obligations under the act, and the obligations they have to communicate hazards etc to our staff while on their site (home owners excluded - unless it is a rental property)

You can read the act on the above link, or you can learn more here
